Loans for contractors on residential units at the Bismayah housing project are to be released through Rafidain Bank, following an emergency meeting between the National Investment Commission (NIC) and the Ministry of Finance.
NIC Chairman Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri met with Finance Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Ali Karim Hussein on Thursday to resolve the long-delayed loan file for Bismayah unit contractors. The meeting followed a visit by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to the NIC, during which he directed that the matter be resolved urgently.
According to the NIC, full agreement was reached on all technical and financial details for releasing the loans to eligible contractors. The NIC also confirmed it would issue and deliver title deeds for residential units to beneficiaries in the near term.
Al-Yasiri said the Prime Minister's intervention had been instrumental in advancing the loan file, and expressed appreciation to the Finance Ministry Undersecretary for his cooperation in resolving outstanding administrative and financial obstacles that had delayed the process for years.
