Two new seed purification and processing lines have been inaugurated at the Ahlelah facility in Nineveh province, raising total production capacity at the site to 30 tonnes per hour. Each line has a capacity of 10 tonnes per hour.
The project was implemented by the emergency loan project team of the World Bank, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture. The expansion also includes the construction of 11 new storage units at the site to increase the wheat storage capacity of the Mesopotamia General Company for Seeds.
Minister of Agriculture Abdul-Rahim Jassim visited the facility and met with specialists to discuss ways to develop the seeds sector across Iraq's provinces.
