Talks between Iraq's Ministry of Planning and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have focused on strengthening bilateral development cooperation. The meeting, held on Tuesday, was led by Dr Sahir Abd al-Kazim Mahdi, Director General of the ministry's International Cooperation Department.
Discussions covered mechanisms for exchanging expertise in development, including training programmes and technical cooperation, as well as building the capacity of staff working on Japanese loan-funded projects.
The two sides also discussed reaching a mutually acceptable framework to advance joint cooperation and development work between Iraq and Japan.
