Iraq's federal Communications and Media Commission (CMC) has announced that it has shut down the main exchanges of Korek Telecom.
The move suspends the network coverage for Korek across 14 governorates.
The CMC had previously claimed repeated failures by the company to meet its contractual obligations, and said it would pursue all legal, regulatory and technical measures in coordination with relevant authorities.
In a statement, Korek said it will legally challenge what it described as an "arbitrary decision", and reserves its right to claim compensation for all damages incurred.
