A ground-breaking ceremony is expected shortly for the "Watan" residential initiative in Diwaniyah province.
According to the National Investment Commission (NIC), its chairman, Adel Dakhil Muhammad al-Yasiri, met with Diwaniyah's First Deputy Governor, Imad Issa al-Shablawi, and the head of the provincial investment authority, Dr Razzaq Shabbar, to finalise preparations for launching the initiative in the province.
The meeting confirmed that implementation steps are proceeding in coordination between the NIC and the local government, with final requirements for the project being completed ahead of the groundbreaking.
The Watan initiative, which aims to provide residential land plots to citizens, is a stated priority of the federal government's programme. The director-general of the Single Window and Investor Services Department at the NIC also attended the meeting.
