President Haider Al-Abadi has congratulated Iran's government and people on the lifting of economic sanctions and the entry into force of the nuclear deal with the major powers.
He added:
"We look forward to this historic agreement contributing to the strengthening of security and stability and prosperity of the countries and peoples of the region, especially as it came at a time of great economic and security challenges that require cooperation and uniting efforts to serve the interests of our peoples and the promotion of development and peace."
