The Iraqi Cabinet has approved a recommendation1 of the Energy Council, to allow the Ministry of Electricity to invite specialized companies to implement a Smart Metering System in the country.
According to the statement from the Media Office of the Prime Minister, the process is also exempt them from the usual instructions regarding government contracts.
