Jiyad: Disappointment at Latest Energy Licensing Round

The Latest Combined Licensing Round- Disappointment for Al-Sudani Government and a Huge Economic Burden Absolutely Unjustified

For three consecutive days (May 11-13), the Ministry of Oil (MoO) organized the "Fifth Plus" and "Sixth" licensing rounds, offering 29 oil and gas fields and exploration blocks.

This intervention aims to evaluate this combined round and was based mainly on the official statements posted on the MoO website, on the daily reports issued by the Iraq Oil Report (IOR), on my database, and with information provided by Abdul Mahdy Al-Ameedi - former Director General of the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Directorate (PCLD) at the MoO.
