Iraq: Withdraw problematic draft Right to Information Act
In a recent analysis, ARTICLE 19 reviews the draft Right to Information Act (draft RTI Act) prepared by the Government of Iraq and finds that in its current form, it is incompatible with international standards on the right to information.
We are deeply concerned about the current proposal's inclusion of problematic provisions and definitions that pose disproportionate restrictions on the ability of individuals to exercise their right to information, and call on the Government of Iraq to withdraw it.
