Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani inaugurated three significant infrastructure projects in Baghdad via video link. These include:
- Baghdad Entrance Project: The main entrance from Diyala-Kirkuk was upgraded, expanding the road from 10 to 16 meters with improved highway standards.
- Nahrawan Water Project: Located southeast of Baghdad, this project, stalled since 2012, now provides 4,000 cubic meters of water per hour, addressing severe water shortages in Nahrawan.
- Army Canal Overpasses: A series of overpasses on the Army Canal, linking the Jamila area to Bab Al-Muazzam Street, are part of the first phase of traffic decongestion projects in the capital.
During the inauguration, Al Sudani praised the efforts of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Baghdad Municipality, and executing companies. He emphasized the importance of completing traffic decongestion projects and resolving delayed projects to improve infrastructure and ease the daily challenges faced by Baghdad's residents.
Key points from his speech include a commitment to swiftly completing traffic projects, addressing the long-standing issues with Baghdad's entrances, maintaining road quality, and ensuring the completion of other vital infrastructure projects, particularly in underserved areas like Nahrawan.
