Reflecting on 2024, one of the bigger stories was the Ministry of Oil concluding the fifth-plus and sixth energy licensing rounds, which will provide a big boost to the Iraqi economy in the years ahead. Iraq also made considerable progress on its strategic Development Road project, and, in the closing days of the year, the Ministry of Planning and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) finally let the public see their National Development Plan 2024-2028, which they launched in Summer.
