The state-owned Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) has signed a contract with Angola's Sonangol to drill 10 developmental wells and 3 optional appraisal wells in the Qayara [Qayyarah] oil field, part of the North Oil Company (NOC)'s fields. T
he project will be executed on a turnkey basis in collaboration with Baghdad-based Arab Well Logging and Well Services Company (AWLCO).
The contract was signed on behalf of the Iraqi Drilling Company by the Deputy Director General, Engineer Kazim Habash Khalif, and on behalf of Sonangol by its Director General.
A secondary contract was also signed with the AWLCO to provide operations services accompanying drilling.
