The Ministry of Health has announced details of the 100-bed hospital series under the Iraq-China agreement, specifying the provinces and expected completion timeline.
Ministry spokesperson Seif Al-Badr confirmed that contracts with reputable global companies are ongoing, with daily oversight from Health Minister Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi.
The hospitals will be constructed in:
- Basra - Al-Imam Al-Sadiq District
- Diyala - Al-Muqdadiya District
- Anbar - Al-Khalidiya District
- Nineveh - Tel Kaif
- Salah Al-Din - Baiji District
- Babel - Al-Hindiya Dam
- Karbala - Al-Jadwal Al-Gharbi
- Muthanna - Al-Khidhir District
- Najaf - Al-Haydariya District
- Dhi Qar - Souq Al-Shuyukh
- Maysan - Al-Majr Al-Kabir
- Kirkuk - Al-Abbasi District
- Wasit - Al-Aziziyah District
- Diwaniya - Al-Bdeir
- Baghdad (Rusafa) - Al-Zaafaraniya
- Baghdad (Karkh) - Al-Shoala
Al-Badr stated that the hospitals are planned for completion within three years and will be built to the latest international standards.
The initiative aims to improve healthcare access in underserved districts, reduce pressure on major hospitals, and enhance both service quality and capacity.
