Weekly News from Iraq

  • Under the patronage of Mr. Faisal Al-Haimus, Chairman of the Iraqi Securities Commission (ISC), a special ceremony was held on Monday to launch the Environmental and Social Governance Guide. In his speech, Mr. Al-Haimus emphasized that the launch of this guide comes within the framework of the Authority's efforts to promote sustainability principles in the securities market, and in line with global trends towards adopting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards in financial institutions and joint-stock companies. (ISC)
  • The ISC has approved the request of United Bank (BUND) to have a four-month extension period to add the new shares from the capital increase through a 16.67% rights issue to IQD350.0 bn starting from May 26, 2025.
  • Al Taif Islamic Bank (BTIB) decided to extend the subscription on 50.0 bn shares for another 60 days starting May 4, due to the incomplete subscription of the full amount during the first 60 days.

Stocks that resumed / will resume trading:

  • Original shares of Commercial Islamic Bank of Iraq (BCOI) resumed trading on Jun. 5 after holding its AGM on May 24 in which they discussed and approved 2024 annual financial statements and increasing the paid-in capital from IQD292.5 bn to IQD327.6 bn through a 12% bonus issue.

Stocks that were suspended / will be suspended from trading:

  • ISX suspended trading of Tourist Village of Mosul Dam (HTVM) starting Jun. 5 due to the AGM that will be held on Jun. 13 to discuss and approve the 2024 annual financial statements.
  • ISX will suspend trading of Iraqi Agricultural Products (AIRP) starting Jun. 17 due to the AGM that will be held on Jun. 22 to discuss and approve the 2023 annual financial statements and dividend distribution.
  • ISX will suspend trading of Al Janoob Islamic Bank (BJAB) starting Jun. 18 due to the AGM that will be held on Jun. 23 to discuss and approve the 2024 annual financial statements and dividend distribution.
  • ISX will suspend trading of Credit Bank of Iraq (BROI) starting Jun. 25 due to the AGM that will be held on Jul. 1 to discuss and approve 2024 annual financial statements, dividend distribution, increasing the paid-in capital from IQD319.87 bn to IQD400.0 bn through a 16.61% rights issue and 8.44% bonus issue.
