The Iraqi Cabinet has approved a recommendation allowing the Ministry of Oil, through the Basra Oil Company (BOC), to allocate part of the 2025 budget for the Majnoon Oil Field to fund a new infrastructure project.
The initiative involves the expansion and development of core sample storage facilities at Nahr Bin Omar [Nahr Bin Umar], increasing capacity from 28,000 cubic metres to 80,000 cubic metres.
The project includes the provision of equipment to extend storage lifespan to 50 years, training of technical personnel, and the integration of solar energy systems to reduce operating costs.
