Iraq's Commission of Integrity and the Iraqi National Security Service have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening joint efforts to combat corruption and crimes that threaten national security and Iraq's economic interests.
The agreement covers the exchange of information on corruption suspects and the recovery of stolen assets, as well as investigations into movable and immovable assets of those accused of corruption. It also provides for cooperation in verifying information, executing judicial arrest warrants, and coordinating on security policies to protect individuals, facilities, information, and documents.
The deal was signed by Furat Naama Kareem, Director-General of the Commission's Legal Department, and Salman Shareef Daffar, Director-General of the Legal Department at the National Security Service.
Both parties confirmed that the agreement will also include joint conferences, workshops, and training programmes, alongside shared studies and awareness campaigns to highlight the risks of corruption and its impact on national security. The initiative is expected to form the basis of a strategic partnership that enhances Iraq's integrity framework and protects the country's economic interests.
