Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani has welcomed the arrival of the first aircraft operated by Basra Airlines, named the "Shatt al-Arab", marking what he described as a milestone for the city's growing aviation sector.
Founded in 2023 by Chairman and CEO Mr. Moffak Sabir Hamad, Basra Airlines aims to position itself as a modern regional carrier supporting Basra's role as a key economic and transport hub in southern Iraq.
The Governorate described the arrival as a "historic achievement" that reflects the province's aspirations to develop its air transport services, attract tourism, and enhance international connectivity.
