Baghdad University to Expand Cooperation with Iranian Uni

As part of efforts to strengthen academic and research collaboration, Baghdad University received Dr. Masoud Tajrishi, President of Iran's Sanati Sharif University, and his accompanying delegation. The visit aimed to enhance mutual cooperation and develop scientific partnerships between the two institutions.

The visiting delegation was welcomed by Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, President of Baghdad University, along with Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Enas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, Director of Missions and Cultural Relations, and Dr. Safaa Al-Wajdi, Director of the Science and Technology Gardens Department.

Discussions covered several key areas, including collaboration in specialised fields such as biomedical engineering and petroleum engineering, as well as the exchange of academic experiences through "Visiting Professor" programmes, faculty exchange initiatives, and joint training programmes.

Dr. Insaf emphasised the importance of such partnerships in advancing the University's academic and research mission, expressing Baghdad University's aspiration to strengthen its ties with leading regional and international universities. He noted that these collaborations contribute to enhancing educational and research outcomes and reinforce the institution's leadership role in the higher education sector.

The visit also included a field tour of the "Science and Technology Gardens" site at Baghdad University, where discussions focused on the project's future vision and its role in supporting innovation, applied research, and entrepreneurship.

According to the press release from the university, this initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
