Basra Airlines has officially received Iraqi Air Operator Certificate (AOC) No. 011, granting the carrier formal authorisation to operate as an approved Iraqi national airline under the supervision of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA).
According to a statement from the company, the certification follows several years of preparatory work and coordination with the aviation regulator, enabling the airline to move into a new operational phase in line with recognised safety and quality standards.
The approval allows the carrier to commence commercial operations as part of efforts to expand Iraq's civil aviation sector.
