By John Lee.

The Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov, has highlighted growing commercial opportunities in Iraq and Syria following recent meetings in both countries.

He said the Iraqi market, with a population of around 46 million, and Syria, with nearly 25 million people, are opening rapidly, with strong demand across a range of sectors.

Key opportunities for Uzbek entrepreneurs were identified in the automotive industry, spare parts, electrical equipment, jewellery, food products, construction materials and industrial goods.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on Uzbek businesses to actively enter these markets and said it is ready to provide practical support to facilitate market access.
