Al-Zawraa General Company, part of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has signed a new contract to supply, install and operate a hybrid solar power plant for the Arab Oil Training Institute.
The project will have a capacity of 120 kW, supported by lithium battery storage with a capacity of 122 kWh, and forms part of efforts to promote renewable energy and improve energy efficiency in government institutions.
According to the company's Director General, Engineer Muhannad Jabbar al-Khazraji, this is the second hybrid solar station implemented by the company for the institute, and the largest to date. It follows the successful installation and operation of an earlier 113 kW system, which demonstrated strong performance.
He said the project aligns with national policies to expand the use of clean energy, reduce reliance on conventional power sources, and support environmental sustainability, noting the company's technical expertise in delivering reliable solar power systems for training and educational institutions.
