Cement Output Rises at Basra, Najaf and Al-Qaim Plants

The Iraqi State Company for Cement, part of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has reported increased production at its Basra, Najaf and Al-Qaim plants in January.

According to Director General Awad Kazem Abdul Amir, the Basra Cement Plant recorded output of 41,123 tonnes, reflecting improved resource management and operational readiness. The plant's production complies with Iraqi Standard No. 5 of 2019, as well as international standards for quality, environment, and occupational health and safety.

Production at the Najaf Cement Plant reached 13,841 tonnes, continuing stable performance seen in 2025 and supporting local market demand.

Meanwhile, the Al-Qaim Cement Plant produced 73,558 tonnes during the month, indicating improved operational efficiency and stable performance.

The company said it is working to enhance performance across all its facilities to meet domestic demand and support national self-sufficiency.
