Iraqi Airways Routes Resume in Full from May

Iraqi Airways is to resume its full international and regional route network from the beginning of May, following a suspension caused by the regional conflict and the closure of Iraqi airspace.

The Ministry of Transport announced that Iraqi Airways has already restored daily services to a number of destinations, operating one flight per day to Istanbul (Atatürk), Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen), Amman, Dubai, Cairo, and Delhi, along with two weekly flights to Ankara and services to Guangzhou, China.

Direct daily flights between Baghdad and Beirut are scheduled to resume from Tuesday, 28th April.

From May, the expanded schedule will include:

• Antalya
• Mumbai
• Muscat

The airline currently has 27 aircraft in operational service, with technical and engineering work under way to return the remainder of the fleet to service. Flights are being operated under a phased plan in coordination with insurance companies and the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA), in accordance with international aviation safety standards.
