Swiss President Guy Parmelin has sent a congratulatory message to Iraq's new President Nizar Amedi, delivered by Switzerland's ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hunn, during a meeting at Baghdad Palace in Baghdad.
In his message, President Parmelin congratulated President Amedi on assuming office and wished him success in his responsibilities, noting the significant challenges facing the region. The Swiss president reaffirmed his country's commitment to strengthening relations between Baghdad and Bern, with particular emphasis on expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
President Amedi said: "Iraq is focused on strengthening partnerships with trusted international partners such as Switzerland to advance development and mutual prosperity."
President Amedi asked Ambassador Hunn to convey his greetings and appreciation to President Parmelin, reaffirming Iraq's commitment to broadening bilateral cooperation and further consolidating bilateral relations.
