Iraq Issues 124 Industrial Project Licences in March

By John Lee.

Iraq's General Directorate of Industrial Development, a division of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, issued 124 preliminary licences for new industrial projects in March.

The licences covered multiple industrial sectors and were distributed across several governorates. Baghdad led with 30 licences, followed by Basra and Nineveh with 18 each, and Anbar and Kirkuk with 10 each.

Director General Dr Ali Ibrahim Jan'an said 33 project-completion licences were also granted to projects that had met the requirements of Industrial Investment Law No. 20 of 1998. The Directorate also provided licence renewal and reactivation services, and continued electronic field inspections across governorates.
