Infrastructure Financing Talks with Asian Development Bank

Iraq's Ministry of Finance has held talks with a delegation from the Chinese-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on financing infrastructure projects and supporting development priorities in Iraq. The delegation was led by Konstantin Limitovsky.

According to the Ministry of Finance, discussions covered the bank's activities in financing transport, energy, water, and digital infrastructure projects across the region. The AIIB delegation said it was prepared to support and finance priority projects in Iraq, with particular focus on strategic infrastructure, including the Development Road project.

Finance Minister Faleh Sari emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions and said proposed projects would be subject to rigorous assessment to ensure economic viability, financing efficiency, and fiscal prudence.
