Iraqi and Indian Chambers Sign Trade Cooperation Agreement

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, via video call. The signing was held under the auspices of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Trade.

The MoU was signed on the Iraqi side by Amer al-Fahdawi, president of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, and on the Indian side by Siddiq Ahmed, vice-president of the Indian-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of Eram Holdings.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Riyad Fakher al-Hashimi, director-general of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, said the agreement was intended to strengthen trade exchange between Iraq and India and open new avenues for private-sector cooperation between the two countries.
