A member of parliament belonging to the Sadr Trend party has called for the abolition of the National Investment Commission (NIC).
Abdul Hussein Risan al-Husseini, of Ahrar bloc of Sadr Trend, told All Iraqi News Agency (AIN):
"The Commission is useless and some Ministers and officials admitted its failure to perform.
"There are impediments that hinder investment in Iraq and there is no [determination] to eliminate these impediments."
He praised the Investment Law but said the mentality of the central administrative is the problem.
