Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi met the CEO of BP, Bob Dudley, in his office on Sunday.
During the meeting, they discussed the production and development of oil fields in Iraq, and in particular the oil fields operated by BP in Rumaila and Kirkuk.
Dr. Haider al-Abadi expressed Iraq’s interest in increasing oil production and commitment towards international oil companies.
The Prime Minister said, "We reiterate our interest in increasing oil production and solving the problems faced by oil companies in Iraq”.
The Prime Minister called for maximizing investment in gas production and reducing waste through flaring. He also expressed Iraq's respect for all its commitment towards oil companies.
The meeting was attended by the Iraqi Minister of Oil, Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Chief Adviser, Dr. Thamer Ghadban.
