Its businesses cover the entire oil and gas chain, from crude oil and natural gas exploration and production to power generation, transportation, refining, petroleum product marketing, and international crude oil and product trading.

TotalEnergies is also a large-scale chemicals manufacturer. The company has its head office in the Tour Total in La Défense district in Courbevoie, west of Paris.

Fields in Iraq:

Granted by the Ministry of Oil (Baghdad): Halfaya

Granted by the Kurdistan Regional Government (Erbil): Baranan, Harir, Safen, Taza

From the company's website:

We have operated the Baranan and Safen exploration blocks in Iraqi Kurdistan since 2012, with an 80% interest in each.

We also have interests in the Harir (35%) and Taza (20%) exploration blocks, each of which produced a discovery in 2013.

We have a 22.5% stake in the consortium that operates the Halfaya oil field, in Maysan Province in southern Iraq.

Total is a partner on the Halfaya project which achieved first oil in June 2012. Production capacity will ramp up to 400,000 b/d by 2017 when Phase 3 comes on stream.

Total's involvement in Iraq's Halfaya project illustrates the Group's dynamic strategy of working in partnership with national oil companies outside their home markets.

Halfaya was brought on stream in June 2012 in partnership with PetroChina and Petronas. The field extends over 300 km² in southern Iraq, 35 kilometers from Amarah.

We are studying the possible development of a petrochemical complex with an ethane steam cracker and polyethylene units in Basra's industrial park.
