Name: Shihabi
Controlled by: Ministry of Oil (Baghdad).
Location: This block is shared between Wasit and Maysan Governorates with area of 1,428 km². One geological structure has been identified in the block, namely: Shihabi, which has dimensions of 32 km (long) by 1.5 - 3.0 km (width) within Iraq's international borders.
Discovery: Initial assessment suggested that the block holds oil accumulations
Status: The block was offered in the "Fifth-plus" licensing round, May 2024 (but no bids were received?). (Had previously been offered, but not awarded, in the fifth licensing round in April 2018.)
