Controlled by: Ministry of Oil (Baghdad).
Location: The block is located within Al Muthanna Governorate. The total surface area is 1,700 km², according to the Petroluem Contracts and Licensing Directorate (PCLD); on announcement of the results of the licensing round, the Ministry of Oil said it has an area of approximately 1,773 square kilometers.
The main target reservoir is the Yamama Formation (secondary targets in Zubair and Mus).
Discovery: The area is entirely covered by three 2D seismic surveys and partially by other surveys. The structural interpretation results highlight three structures and leads. No wells have been drilled. Oil potential.
