The Wassit governor laid on Tuesday the foundation stone for a new security building in the province, which will cost $3.7 million.
“The project will be financed by the U.S. Support Team, and will be located in northern Kut City,” Majid al-Itabi, the Wassit media director, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He said that the project will be finalized by an Iraqi firm within one year.
Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
