Oil Tanks Built at Najaf Refinery to Boost Reserves

Several oil tanks of different sizes are currently being built at the Najaf refinery to increase its reserves, an informed source said on Sunday.

“Work is currently underway to build 12 tanks…,” the director of the refinery, Layth Abdulrasool al-Gharawi, said in a statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The project will increase the refinery’s reserve capacity to 92 million liters, Gharawi noted.

The refinery is located 33 km northwest of Najaf City, which lies 160 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
