According to General Manager Dyia Jafar al-Musawi, Southern Oil Company completed 15% of establishing floating project for oil export in Basrah.
Moussawi said that the company "was able with the help of UK's engineering consultants to complete the first stages , of creating floating platforms to export oil in the Gulf."
Al Moussawi said that the establishment of platforms export is a very large project and is being implemented in cooperation and coordination with , Foster Wheeler, a British company for consulting and engineering, adding that the Ministry of Oil has decided "not to divide the project into two phases and agreed to create a full form of its importance."
Most of the oil extracted from the southern oilfields is exported from Basrah and Al Amiya ports , by 1500000 barrels a day, while other amounts transferred to the South Refineries Company to refine and transform them into products intended for domestic consumption.
