Basra Provincial Council will be voting on the new projects on Tuesday (May 18).
“The projects are funded by Basra revenues from oil production and border points,” a source from the council told Aswat al-Iraq news agency on Tuesday.
He noted that the council will have a meeting tomorrow to approve the projects.
The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad
