Baghdad Mayor Calls Investors to Start Projects They Contracted

An official source in the office of Baghdad's Mayor said on Sunday that the Mayor had highlighted the importance of implementing the investment projects that have been contracted, stressing the need to expedite the granting of investment licences.

"A meeting that included Baghdad's Mayor, Saber Al-Issawi, a number of ambassadors and businessmen took place to discuss the mechanism to start work after getting an investment license in Iraq," Hakim Abdul-Zahra, The Director of Media Relations in Baghdad Municipality said.

"Baghdad Mayorship had announced earlier that a large number of investment projects required those who had received licences to provide investment plans and initial designs to start these projects. Al-Issawi stressed during the meeting that delays after obtaining investment licenses hurt the country's economy," Abdul-Zahra said.
