The Kurdistan Cabinet advisor for international relations, said Jihan Rashid Snedi, announced on Sunday that an Egyptian trade delegation will visit the Kurdistan Region.
"The Egyptian trade delegation plans to talk with the chief of Kurdistan Chamber of Commerce about reconstruction, investment, business, technology, agriculture and higher education during its stay in Kurdistan," Snedi noted. The 38-strong delegation includes the State Minister for investment affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister.
The delegation’s visit came after two Egyptian consulates were inaugurated in Erbil and Basra, to increase cooperation between the countries.
The President of the Council of Ministers, Nouri Othman, reported, "The Egyptian delegation’s visit to Kurdistan came after the diplomatic visit of Kurdistan Region's President, Massoud Barzani, to Egypt and Jordan."
President Barzani had a four-day visit to both Jordan and Egypt after being invited by the Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak on July 4.
