Then on 25 September 2010, the Iraqi Minister of Planning issued a statement, revealing that “because of certain reservations and concerns from political groups in Kirkuk and Ninawa, the commission responsible for conducting the census is considering the possibility of postponing the census in order to give time to political groups to resolve outstanding issues.”
The Kurdistan Region leadership totally rejects any more delays to the census. The census must be held by the end of 2010.
