The Basra Investment Commission has licensed three projects, including an amusement park and a shopping center, worth $72m (84 billion Iraqi dinars).
Khalaf Badran, head of the board, revealed the details of the projects, which will be undertaken by local companies.
Jalfar Amusement Park will be constructed in the Qibla district with a capital of $4.2 million on 10 donums [2.5 hectares] of land within 18 months.
The second license was issued for the construction of Commercial Agencies Street in Kut al-Hajaj district, with a capital of $49.7 million.
The third license went to the large Ashar Shopping Center, for local and foreign trading, with a asset of $17.8 million.
