FM Receives Turkish Delegation

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, received on October 22, 2013 Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Turkish Parliament, Volkan Bozkir, the delegation accompanying him, and the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Faruk Kaymakci.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the Iraqi and Turkish parliaments to develop this relation.

Minister Zebari stressed the importance of this visit because it contributes to the development and normalization of relations on the political and economic levels.

They also touched upon the ongoing regional developments and exchanged views on the Syrian crisis and what it represents of common concern as a result of its continuation.

For his part, Bozkir expressed his thanks to the Minister for the warm reception and hospitality, expressing hope to strengthen the Iraqi - Turkish relations, in line with the history of these two countries in the region.

The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations, Head of the Neighboring Countries Department, and Manager of the Minister's Office.
