The Iraqi Ministry of Health has said that 2,500 expatriate Iraqi doctors have returned home as part of a programme launched last year to bring Iraqi professionals back to the county.
Al-Shorfa quotes Deputy Health Minister, Khamees al-Saad, as saying:
"The returning doctors are an important asset to Iraq and they were distributed to various hospitals across the country with special privileges enabling them to acclimatise at the hospitals where they were appointed."
