Asiacell Selects Anam Technologies

Asiacell, the first mobile telecommunications company in Iraq, was established in the city of Sulaimaniyah, Iraq in 1999 by entrepreneur Mr. Faruk Mustafa Rasool. Today it has a wide network that provides coverage for all of the country's provinces in the north and the south and is the largest private Iraqi company, serving over 10.7 million customers and connecting the Iraqi nation together.

Amer Sunna, Asiacell CEO commented:

We have an on-going commitment to our customers to protect them from spam content and attacks and, having worked with Anam since 2010, we knew that they were the right partner for us as we upgrade our systems to defend against increasingly complex and evolving SMS spam attacks.

"Their experience and knowledge of the market, combined with a solution that is able to meet our needs not only in terms of ability to detect and block spam but with a seamless integration into our current network means that we are able to identify potential spammers as early as possible and deal with it appropriately.

Louise O’Sullivan (pictured), Chief Executive Officer of Anam Technologies said:

Mobile operators are seeing increasing levels of spam and unwanted text messages being terminated on their network, which is not only damaging the operator’s reputation with the customer but could also lead to lost revenues.

"Asiacell is at the forefront of this challenge and we are delighted to be supporting them as they proactively seek innovative new ways to protect its customers and networks against increasingly sophisticated SMS Spam.
