PM Al-Abadi Arrives in UAE

Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi and his accompanying delegation arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday morning, and were welcomed at the presidential airport by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the head of the mission of honor Dr. Sultan bin Saeed Al-Badi, Minister of Justice.

The official reception ceremony took place, where the national anthems of the Republic of Iraq and United Arab Emirates were played. The Prime Minister then held a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in the presence of members of the official delegation.

PM Al-Abadi applauded the development of relations between the two countries, and expressed appreciation for the stances of the UAE in support of Iraq and its people in the face of Daesh terrorist gangs, as well as UAE’s contribution to the building and reconstruction of Iraq.

The Prime Minister also expressed a great wish for this visit to achieve the intended goals to expand cooperation in all areas. He noted that this visit comes at a time when the Iraqi government opens doors for neighboring countries so as to promote common interests, security, stability and progress for all peoples and nations of the region.

On behalf of the Government and people of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed warmly welcomed the Prime Minister and wished that the visit will contribute to deepening the relations between the two countries, and expressed the readiness of the UAE to stand with the Iraqi people to achieve all aspirations in security, stability and prosperity.

The visit agenda of the Prime Minister also includes meetings with two real estate and investment enterprises. He will depart to Dubai to meet with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

In the evening PM Al-Abadi will meet a number of Iraqi businessmen residing in the United Arab Emirates.
