Regarding the issues between Baghdad and Erbil, minister Falah Mustafa stressed that the Kurdistan Regional Government will continue in its commitment with the oil agreement signed with Baghdad recently, but at the same time need to Baghdad also bound by this agreement and promises, especially in terms of providing the region's budget and the salaries of the citizens and the budget of the Peshmerga.
He also added that Baghdad did not help us in the war against Daesh as required. Baghdad also must send part of the budget and more support from the military point of view.
In the context of this meeting minister Falah Mustafa pointed to the need for a realistic Britain's policy in dealing with the current situation in Iraq. He called for more military and humanitarian support from the British government, pointing out the existence of a local two million IDPs and refugees in the region, and said that this huge number of refugees increased burdens on the Kurdistan Regional Government.
He expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the British government and the international community, and called at the same time for more British government aids to enable the Kurdistan Regional Government to continue providing the daily needs for these refugees and IDPs.
On his side, Tobias Ellwood, the British Minister for Middle East affairs praised the courage of the Peshmerga forces and praised their role to confront Daesh and thwart their plans. He said that the entire world is proud of the role of the Peshmerga, so the aid will be provided from all sides. Again at the same time he emphasized that his country would continue to provide aid and military support for the elimination of Daesh.
On the other hand, he stressed that his country will continue through its embassy in Baghdad to provide aid in order to address the problems, especially in the provision of more aid and address the issue of the region's budget.
