FM al-Jaafari on Trade Mission to Brazil

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari met Minister of State for Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil Armando Monteiro in his office in the Brazilian capital as part of a series of meetings during an official visit to promote relations in a number of areas.

During the meeting the Minister pointed out that Iraqi consumers trust Brazilian goods and industries so there is an opportunity to re-activate trade between the two countries, adding that Brazilian goods can compete with their global counterparts in terms of quality and prices.

He also said that Iraq is a rich country with a number of resources such as oil, agriculture, industry and tourism, stressing that Iraq is looking to cooperate with Brazil in several sectors.

For his part, Mr. Armando Monteiro welcomed Dr. al-Jaafari, noting that Brazil is one of the most important importers of Iraqi oil.
