Ahmed Chalabi Dies, Aged 71

The prominent Iraqi politician Ahmed Chalabi has died at the age of 71.

Chalabi, who played a significant role in persuading the United States and its allies to topple Saddam Hussein in 2003, died of a heart attack at his Baghdad home on Tuesday.

Having previously served as Deputy Prime Minister, Chalabi had been serving as the chairman of parliament’s finance committee.
