The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to finalize an agreement with Iraq in the coming days for a program to monitor its economy.
The fund's Middle East director, Masood Ahmed, told Reuters the program would establish a track record of effective performance from the Iraqi authorities which could lead to a finance program being agreed next year.
Baghdad agreed last month to have the IMF monitor Baghdad's economic polices, with the intention of curbing spending and reducing Iraq's budget deficit.

It is the CBI that needs to be observed. Where is all the money they are responsible for?
