Avangardco, the largest producer of shell eggs and dry egg products in Ukraine and number one producer in Europe, has blamed a sharp decrease in exports on the "unstable situation in Iraq".
In its results statement for the first quarter of 2016, the company said:
"... exports of shell eggs decreased by 31% year-on-year to 75 million units (Q1 2015: 108 million units), largely due to the unstable situation in Iraq, one of the Company's key export markets for shell eggs.
The share of export sales reached 16% (Q1 2015: 10%), split between three export markets: Iraq, UAE and Moldova."
