Environmentalists say Iraq's once fertile Faw Peninsula is facing catastrophe.

The region has seen a major collapse in its fishing and farming industries due to drought and decades of wars.

    Not only the WARS (from 1980 until still tday) and drought, but since the Attaturk Dam
    was starts to be filled much less water reached even Bghd and the SDhatt al Arab.
    The sea water from the Arab Gulf came slowly up to Basra and even further to Qurna.
    This salty waters is harming the FARMING INDUSTRY, SPEC. IN SOUTHERN IRAQ.
